This beautiful Victorian house is located in the historic Brooklyn neighborhood of Midwood. The owners wanted to reimagine their kitchen to be a more vibrant, light-filled communal space that they could enjoy with their family and friends.
The space has been updated to include warm, dark blue hues in the lower cabinetry, white oak in the upper cabinetry, and stunning gray bluestone porcelain tile for the flooring which now includes an underfloor heating system. There is also an expanded pantry, as well as new appliances, including a double oven, which were carefully selected to make the space more elevated and functional.
This large but poorly laid out bathroom was reimagined to become a kid friendly and colorful jewel-box space. Re: Design Architects installed striking floral wallpaper from Voutsa to create a playfully elegant focal point that complements the red tile seen in the rest of the room. The home’s original cast iron bath tub was salvaged and a shower was added to increase the room’s functionality.
Housed in the building of a former printing press and located on the edge of one of Manhattan’s most rapidly developing neighborhoods, this dated loft needed a modern touch.
Re: Design Architects lifted the kitchen ceiling and installed striking Ikea cabinetry to open the space and create a true “loft” feeling. A beautifully patterned black and white floor by Stone Source was added to define the kitchen space and complement the straight lines of the backsplash. To add storage to the small space, Rebuck used the same stone and cabinet doors to create a wall of storage that seamlessly blends with the rest of the space.
Re: Design Architects increased the floor space of the children’s bedrooms and added transom windows to match the newly installed panel doors. A striking, textured wallpaper by Lee Jofa was chosen to accent a wall in the master bedroom, complementing a bold light fixture that makes the room feel both mature and cool.
The bathroom was updated to showcase a stunning accent wall featuring wallpaper by Drop It Modern and subtly textured tiles in the shower that brighten the space and balance the small room. New fixtures, accessories, lighting and a toilet were added to efficiently modernize the space.
